Paid duty officers are off-duty police officers who perform policing duties for an individual organization other than York Regional Police. Paid duty officers are assigned by the police service and are utilized to serve a variety of functions including traffic direction, security, weddings, banquets or other special events.
Please note, a four-hour minimum charge applies for all officers and vehicles required for a paid duty. Any duty exceeding nine hours may be divided into shifts at the discretion of York Regional Police.
In addition to HST, a 24 per cent administration fee will be charged. If more than three officers are required for an event, a sergeant will be assigned.
